The City of Clinton Tract is comprised of 276 acres and includes the waterbodies of Clinton Reservoir and Lake Austin. It is located off State Highway 308, Duncan Creek Church Road and Reservoir Road near Clinton in Laurens County. This property is owned by the City of Clinton and is leased by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as a wildlife management area (WMA). It is open for public hunting and fishing. Hunting is allowed during regular Game Zone 2 seasons and there is no closed season for fishing. Other allowable activities such as wildlife viewing and hiking are permitted year around.
Clinton Reservoir is 73 acres and Lake Austin is 15 acres and both provide fishing opportunities for bass, bream, crappie and catfish. Near the upper end of both waterbodies, where the water is shallow, waterfowl often concentrate and opportunities exist for waterfowl hunting. The forested areas adjacent to the lakes are mixed pine and hardwoods and provide good habitat for deer, wild turkey and small game species such as squirrel.
