The Fant's Grove Dove Field consists of 45-acres of fields located south of Clemson, from US 76/28 south of Clemson, take SC 187 to Fant?s Grove Rd, turn right and proceed 1.5 miles to field. It is owned by Clemson University.

Hunters utilizing this field must have a valid hunting license, wildlife management area permit and migratory bird permit. Other game species may be hunted on Fant's Grove dove fields when dove season is closed.

Fant's Grove Dove Fields will be closed the first Saturday of October for the Fant's Grove Youth Deer Hunt. Otherwise fields will be open for the first, second and third season on Saturday afternoons only. Signs are posted at the entrance to the field providing specific dates the field is open each year. Hunters cannot enter the field until 12:00 noon and the field closes at 6:00 pm during the first segment of the season. Hunters are limited to 50 shells per hunt.

The field is planted by DNR each year in agricultural crops such as wheat, browntop millet, sunflowers, sorghum and corn that provide food for doves and other wildlife and cover for hunters. Each year, prior to opening day, a portion of the crops is bushhogged or burned and strips are disked throughout the field to provide some bare ground.

Hunters must also park at the designated parking area. Shotguns with magazines must be plugged so they hold no more than two (2) shells in the magazine. Hunters are cautioned to avoid shooting low birds and to hunt safely. Hunters are also required to carry out all their trash including spent shell hulls. All other federal, state and WMA regulations apply.
