Property Owner Information
This property is leased for hunting purposes only and not managed by SCDNR for any other activities.
Santee Dam Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is owned by Santee Cooper (South Carolina Public Service Authority) and managed by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
Located just below Wilson Dam along the banks of the Santee River, the 1,066-acre Santee Dam WMA offers several hunting and fishing opportunities. The property is mostly forested, and most of the stands contain bottomland hardwood species. Dense understories of river cane, greenbrier, and wood oats occur in some of these stands. Except for scheduled dove hunts, the area can only be accessed by watercraft from Borrow Pit Landing in Clarendon County or Wilson's Landing in Berkeley County. If accessing the area from Wilson's Landing, watercraft may not cross the boundary line below the spillway. During dove hunts (consult current WMA public dove fields list for dates), hunters can access the WMA through the gate on the north side of the property.
